Thank you for applying to the Big House Youth Mission trip! We are thrilled to embark on this journey with you. Below, you will find everything you need to know about our mission trip.

ACTIVITIES

Most of our days include a diverse array of activities throughout our target area.

Here are a few that you can expect:

  • Clearing trash and debris from sidewalks and abandoned lots
  • Landscaping
  • Gardening
  • Installing flower boxes
  • Loving our neighbors!

 
HOUSING

We are thrilled to have the capacity to host teams in the “Carriage House,” a four-room dorm-style building on our property with a large commons area. Your team will be split into multiple male and female bedrooms with showers.


SAFETY

Although we present some startling statistics about the crime rate in our neighborhood, your team’s safety is our top priority. We have never experienced any violent crime during our Love the Hill events. Our property is equipped with self-locking doors and multiple security cameras. Because we have planted our roots here, much of the neighborhood respects us and our property.


PACKING LIST
Clothing that is easy to move in and you do not mind getting dirty 

No “spandex” outfits

Hat or sunglasses

Sunscreen

Bug spray

Work gloves

Comfortable boots or sneakers

Casual clothing for evenings and free day

Bible and journal

Towel

Sleeping Bag, Pillow

Water bottle

Light rain jacket or poncho (we will be working in the rain unless storming)

Money if they want to buy any Merch (t-shirt, hoodie, hat, books, coffee, etc)

Pair of pants to work in (in case working in overgrowth/poison ivy)

Work gloves are not needed but helpful (we will have gloves available for those that need them).

 OUTREACH

Although our neighborhood desperately needs beautification, our neighbors also need the love of Jesus! We will offer opportunities for you to engage in worship and intercession over the neighborhood, as well as evangelism.

This is roughly what you can expect for a Sunday-Sunday stay with us. Activities are subject to change.

FREE DAY - Hershey Park

SATURDAY
DAY - Work in the neighborhood
Participate in our Saturday community event then head home. 
EVENING - Arrive at Big House Annex. 


COST & DEADLINES

TOTAL COST - $600
Included: week stay, transportation, food, Hershey park day, snacks

Not included: additional spending money (recommended to bring ~ $50 for any additional snacks at Hershey Park or souvenirs) 


Deposit

-$100 deposit is due once the application is received and approved. 

- May 31st - First $250 payment due (Total Paid: $350)

- June 30th - Final $250 payment due (Total Paid: $600)

- Final payment and all money turned in by June 30th



EVENTS: More events to be added. Events subject to change. All mission trip participants must be present at fundraising events in order to receive a share of the money made.
Italicized events are Mandatory.

June 14th (SUN) - Bake Sale Fundraiser

June 28th (SUN) - Final Bake Sale Fundraiser
